18 Sep Park Opening Draws Unique Crowd
It was a fantastic day during the Labour Day weekend in Rockland, ON at the Grand Opening of DuMoulin Park. People young and old turned up to celebrate the new park, and enjoy a great barbecue presented by Dynamo Playgrounds! Lots of special people turned up – the Mayor and City Manager of Rockland, representatives from the Rockland Help Centre and, most importantly, the people of Rockland!
There were some unexpected guests that attended the opening as well. A collection of visitors from Ancient Egypt showed up to inspect the Dynamo “Play Like an Egyptian” pyramid climber; they liked its authentic design. A pair of masked superheroes dropped in to inspect the DX-103 Pyramid Net Climber and gave it two bat-thumbs and two webs up! A wizard arrived to see if he could help out the animals stuck in the Animal Tree Stump, but the community decided that they being able to see jungle animals without travelling around the world. Even an astronaut took a break from the space program to take a ride on the Dynamo Apollo Rotating Climber; he thought it was a great training ground for future astronauts. (It’s also rumoured that the Santa Claus was there early and told us that this park was on his “Nice” list.)
All told, it was a great day for the community of Rockland, with the Centre d’Aide de Rockland Help Centre receiving a generous donation from Dynamo Playgrounds, along with many donations of food items from people of the community. The community was also treated to a magic show and enjoyed one of the nicest days of the summer in this scenic park alongside the Ottawa River. It was clear from the reaction of the community that this park will be enjoyed by young and old alike for years to come.
