Requirements:

Job Description:

  • Learning about Dynamo Playgrounds, our products and services.
  • Actively participating in Dynamo sales training.
  • Making outgoing calls to select regions introducing Dynamo Playgrounds.
  • Researching new opportunities through newsletters, city websites, Google searches etc.
  • Maintaining the professional tone and image of Dynamo Playgrounds.

Dynamo Playgrounds is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Draftsperson to join our fast-growing manufacturing plant. This person needs to be a motivated, capable, organized, team player with a strong sense of execution.

Dynamo Playgrounds is located in Plantagenet, Eastern Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 2D mechanical, metal fabrication, and assembly drawings in Autodesk Inventor.
  • Re-create existing designs in Inventor from Rhino 3D
  • Participate in Management of CAD Vault (PDM)
  • Assist in the execution of Engineering Change Orders
  • Produce installation manuals in Adobe InDesign
  • Record and document as-built models

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with Autodesk Inventor, Rhino 3D, or similar CAD Software
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility that utilizes, machining, welding and assembly.
  • Sound understanding of metal and steel fabrication techniques
  • Experience with assembly and welding symbols.
  • Previous experience in mechanical design drafting with a Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma, or equivalent experience.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Dynamo Playgrounds is looking for an intermediate level Mechanical Design Engineer help in the design of our custom playgrounds. This person needs to be a motivated, capable, organized, team player with a strong sense of execution.

Dynamo Playgrounds is located in Plantagenet, Eastern Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Take early conceptual renderings and design real world play structures in 3D CAD to be fabricated at the Dynamo factory
  • Ensure designs comply with CSA, ASTM and EU play grounds safety standards
  • Analyze play structures for adequate strength utilizing hand calculations and FEA software
  • Communicate with welders and machinists to discuss manufacturability of play structures as well as troubleshoot any issues that arise during fabrication
  • Lead design review meetings of projects with Manufacturing, Management, Quality control, Purchasing and Fellow Engineers
  • Involved in the creation of 100+ page fabrication packages for custom playgrounds, as well as checking drawing packages of other design engineers

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years professional working experience as a mechanical design engineer working with welders and machinists to design metal structures
  • Intermediate to Expert skill level working in a 3D CAD environment (Solidworks, Catia, NX)
  • Knowledge of FEA software to analyze metal structures
  • 3+ years of mechanical drafting experience including but not limited to: Machined Parts, large weldment drawings, General Assemblies & Layouts

Preferred Requirements:

  • Intermediate to Expert level working with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD & Inventor FEA Simulation
  • Knowledge and experience using Rhino 3D
  • Experience as a large project's point engineering contact
  • Hands on experience working with welding machines, mills and lathes
  • Familiarity with weld symbols and proper call out procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Design creative custom playground equipment through concept sketches and 3D software, transforming customers visions into reality.
  • Digitally modify existing 3D playground equipment for the purpose of extending existing product lines.
  • Liaise with Sales to discuss project scope and budget. Review client and or Landscape Architect requests (sketches, photos, etc.) to determine end-user expectations.
  • Create 3D renderings and presentation layouts, along with Use Zones, 2D/3D files and specification sheets.
  • Collaborate with Production Designers, Production personnel and Management to establish best design/production practices.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a post-secondary education from an accredited University or College in Digital Illustration, Industrial Design, Architecture, 3D Animation and Modeling, or other related field of study.
  • Demonstrated experience with 3D CAD and presentation software such as; Adobe Creative Suite, Solidworks, 3D Studio Max or AutoCAD.
  • Rhinocerous 3D, 3D animation and Lumion experience is an asset.
  • An existing design portfolio demonstrating the applicant’s ability to create complex, high quality, 3D models and renderings is considered an asset.
